The Cook Family
2008
We are a family of seven (3 children and 2 dogs). John and I have been married for 15 wonderful years. Our children are Wesley (10), Winnie (7), and Wyatt (3). Our rambunctious dogs, Max and Rose, are adorable German Short Hair Pointers. We enjoy family movie nights and time with one another. Faith and our church are important to us. John continues his job as a nurse, and I continue to work as a 6th grade teacher.

We are starting this blog to document our experiences in this new year and to stay in touch with you. We are thankful for our wonderful family and friends.
Wesley
Wesley is an active 4th grader who loves legos, his dogs, and playing the viola. He relishes all things fast. This includes thrill rides like roller coasters and race cars. His favorite NASCAR driver is Tony Stewart. Wesley is very imaginative and enjoys creating things. Wesley wants to start writing his own book this year (in joint effort with his mom - the language arts teacher).

Winnie
Winnie is a gorgeous 2nd grader. Her name is Alice Winnifred, named for her great-grandmothers. At school she chooses to go by "Alice." We love her names and personality. She is highly artistic and creates many things in many forms. She loves American Girl dolls, gymnastics class, and her dogs. Winnie is VERY social and can make friends everywhere she goes. Because she values friends so much, her favorite pastime is playdates with others. This year Winnie would like to join the swim team. Many of her friends are already on the swim team (of course).

Wyatt
Wyatt is a spirited 3 year old. He is affectionate and loving. He loves Superheroes (especially Spider Man) and his grandma, "Ganma." In fact, until very recently when asked his name, he would reply, "Peter Parker." He thoroughly enjoys his gymnastics class and preschool; Wyatt is making huge strides with his speech articulation. He does a great job keeping up with his older siblings.

Max and Rose
These are the newest additions to our family. They are German Short Hair Pointers and will be one year old this month. Their introduction to our family was a huge adjustment (my opinion). They are triple or quadruple their size in this picture. Max and Rose's personalities could not be more different. They are both hyper yet gentle and kind. Max is friendly, thinks he's human, and wants to be in the middle of everything you are doing. Rose loves attention, too, but is willing to stand by or do her own thing. They make the perfect pair. John is training them to bird hunt and their skills appear promising so far. Although our house is dustier and "hairier", these two continue to enrich our lives and have found a special place in each of our hearts.

  1. Wonderful first post! I am so glad you started a blog for your family - it will be a great way to keep up with all the happenings of the Cooks. Knowing you, Cheryl, and watching your family grow has been an incredible blessing. Your family is beautiful - I hope that we will always remain close even if distance keeps us a part. You are truly a sister to me - I count you and your children (okay, John, too) as family. Lots of love, Keira

Our lives are very busy and our get togethers have lessened and this will be a great way to feel connected. Thanks for sharing and thanks for your friendship, it's very dear to my heart!
